DOJ appoints FRA Founding Partner Frances McLeod as Independent Compliance Monitor.
In 2024, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) appointed Founding Partner Frances McLeod to serve as an Independent Compliance Monitor of Binance, a global digital asset exchange, for a three-year term. The monitorship appoints Ms. McLeod to “assess and monitor” the company’s compliance with its obligations under the Plea Agreement and evaluate the “effectiveness of the Company’s Compliance Programs as they relate to its current and ongoing compliance with laws prohibiting money laundering, laws requiring anti-money laundering programs, and laws prohibiting violations of US sanctions.”
